Bacteria and Gender |
|
The intention of our research was to find out if high school boys or girls were cleaner. We wanted to find out whose hands and personal items contained more bacteria. Our hypothesis was that we would find more bacteria on boys hands and belongings. We swabbed hands, pencil cases and binders of four volunteer female and four volunteer male participants and cultivated the microorganisms from the swabs for one week; after which we counted the bacterial colonies. Our research has proven our hypothesis - boys did have a larger number of bacteria than girls.
