Our Project is a survey type project that is meant to test what colors attract the most people when a prize is involved. We will use this information to determine which color is best to use in an advertising campaign involving prize winning. To test this hypothesis a table was built that had twelve multicolored buttons. We set up this table in three busy locations so we surveyed a large number of people from the general population. The table displayed a sign on it saying "Which button would you chose to win a prize?". People came to the table and chose a button to press. We counted all the presses of each button and recorded the age and gender of each person. By analyzing the results we determined which button attracted more people. Generally we found more people purple and red buttons more than any other colors. There was some variation for gender and age but in all cases purple showed up in the top two choices. For an effective advertising campaign involving prizes, purple should be used.
