I discovered Borax Plastic a while ago when I did an activity on the slime in school. The slime is a really cool substance, but I noticed that it had begun to crumble and dry out. So I put it in a bowl of water and forgot about it. A while later I looked in and there was a bit of plastic. I was intrigued by it and decided to research it more and to try to make it useful by altering it in some way. That became my purpose for the experiment.

So I mixed up some borax, glue and water as well as other chemicals around the house. I made five different kinds using five different chemicals, one chemical to each plastic. All of the plastics used borax, glue and water but each (except the control)has another ingredient. They started out as a slime but when I microwaved it the slime dehydrated. It became hard when it cooled. Some of the plastic I let dehydrate on its own. There were many different types of plastic that came out of this experiment and they had very different qualities. There were strong ones and weak ones, blue ones and yellow ones. There was even a one that was clear. But they go soft in water and that is their one big problem. I had tried to make my plastic more useful, and I found one plastic that was strong, quite resistant to water and virtually odourless. I found out a lot of things about my plastic and how I could make it better. Though I would like to use some more powerful chemicals in my plastics.
