Bulls- Eye Catapult |
|
The catapult changed the course of history many times over, despite the fact it wasnt an easy machine to use.
Every shot had to count because of the limited supply of ammunition, the difficulty of maneuvering such large machines during the chaos of war, and the time constraints the army would be under.
So I wanted to find out what the physics were behind catapults, and what variables could be altered to guarantee a more powerful and accurate shot.
My Science Fair Project tests projectile density and shape, the catapult's arm angle of release, and wind direction to better understand how people in the past used these machines.
