Going Bananas |

'Going Bananas' is a project that investigated the effects of carbon dioxide on surface blackening in Cavendish bananas. The hypothesis and problem was based on background research in the area. Surveying amoung local merchants and consumers that sold/ate bananas was conducted to provide validity to the importance of the project. Bananas were placed in airtight jars and subjected to carbon dioxide gas in several trials, over a 1-week period. Varying results were observed in each trial. The experimental procedure was modified after conducting several trials to obtain the utmost reliable results. The analysis and conclusion from the experiment covers several areas, including valid sources of error, improvements, reliability of results, and more. Overall, the hypothesis was generally supported by the results. The project is presented in an organized fashion on a colourful poster board, with several 2-d props to aid the viewer to better understand the project and results.
