PURPOSE: To find out what weather conditions and tide levels make the water in False Creek the safest to swim.

CONCLUSION: Water is safest to swim before rain and at a cold temperature. The tide level does not seem to affect the safety. Heavy rain makes the E.Coli counts rise the most.

APPLICATIONS: E.Coli counts show when it is safe to swim. It is important to pick up waste from pets to minimize E.Coli in the water. Boats should have holding tanks for sewage. Storm and sanitary sewers should be separated. False Creek is used by many, keep it clean.
