Our project is called Efficient Power Sources. We are trying to find out which substances have more energy than
the rest so that we can discover what the most efficient fuel is. For instance, maybe we should have coal in our
fireplaces instead of wood. We will be measuring the energy in British thermal units (Btus).

We tested wood, coal, fake wood, Doritos, newspaper, and peanuts. We tested the materials by putting one
ounce them into a metal can and placing one pound of water on top. After that we checked the temperature of the
water and recorded it, and we used a barbeque lighter to light the substances. Every minute we would record the
temperature of the water, until the temperature failed to rise. This way we could measure not only the amount of
Btu in one ounce of each material, but we could also find out how long they lasted.

Then we'll compare the results and calculate which substance had the most Btu and lasted longest.
